

They were not allowed to keep their nail with them during the night, so their only defense would be Hornet’s wooden stick, sturdy and capable of slaying even the strongest beasts, or at least that’s what Hornet claims. They stumbled over to their toy box, careful to keep the lumafly lantern close to them. Terrifying shadows stretched infinitely upward across their ceiling, peeking out from behind closets and toys, hiding beneath their bed with its sinister claws awaiting their approach, ready to grab them and drag them into the hell beneath them. Still, the darkness waited in hiding to pounce, to tear them limb from limb, to swallow them in its infinite shadows and never let them see the light of day again.


They floated up lazily, filling their room with light. Thankfully, by the luck of the gods, they managed to make it into their room, immediately diving for their lumafly lantern and waking the small bugs inside. Still, as they moved, the darkness only got closer, the lumaflies went to sleep, threatening to swallow Hallow whole if they didn’t make it back to their room in time. Inky blobs formed at the edges of their eyes, running down their cloak and leaving a trail where they ran. They silently ran down the hallways, having completely abandoned their previous mission in favor of just getting to safety. She also didn’t approve of them sneaking out past their bedtime, but here they were. They had wanted some snacks before bed, but mother didn’t approve. A small vessel, previously called Hollow Knight, now only known as the child of the King, stood in the hallway. The darkness slithers closer and closer as the lumaflies dim their lights and return to the realm of sleep.
